Rampion Wind Farm
Offshore Windfarm, Sussex
From the outset, E-On’s proposal for a 116 turbine offshore wind farm faced a number of challenges identified by our regional opinion polling. The company’s local profile and reputation required strengthening, with some communities initially resistant to the onshore aspects of the proposal as connection to the national grid was through the newly established South Downs National Park.
At the earliest opportunity, our team worked closely with E-on to help place the company on the front foot. We helped form Project Liaison Groups to act as a forum for information sharing with local politicians, businesses and special interest groups. We provided logistical support as E-on shared its vision for the project across the region at local information roadshows and we organised a regional school competition to rename the project.
The project was successful and the 400MW Rampion Offshore Wind Farm is now operational.
