Inside the Opposition: Starmer’s new top team

Inside the Opposition: Starmer’s new top team

Last week, we held a fascinating panel discussion on the Northern Powerhouse with Henri Mursion from NPP, and Jessica Bowles from Bruntwood. You can watch a recording of the webinar here.

In the next in our series of topical online discussions we are turning our attention to politics, and Labour’s new top team. We are delighted to be joined by one of Sir Keir Starmer’s closest allies, Carolyn Harris MP, and the man who challenged Jeremy Corbyn for the leadership in 2016, Owen Smith.

Carolyn Harris MP is part of the new Labour leader’s inner circle. She was Vice Chair of Sir Keir’s successful Labour leadership campaign, and is now his Parliamentary Private Secretary – his ‘eyes and ears’ in Parliament. She will be chatting with Owen Smith, former BBC Radio 4 Today journalist and former Labour MP, who in 2016 resigned from Jeremy Corbyn’s Shadow Cabinet and challenged him for the leadership.

Our guests will discuss what Sir Keir Starmer’s election means for Labour and for the Government’s response to coronavirus, the task facing the Opposition during the crisis, and how the new Labour leadership is engaging with business and other organisations.

Attendees are welcome to ask questions and share their reflections and ask questions. Please join us on Friday 1 May at 10.15am.
